Policies of Payment (for monthly lessons)

  • The entire monthly tuition is required to be paid ahead of time on the first lesson of each month.

  • When you pay the monthly tuition, your specific time-slot is reserved for that month. No one else can take this time-slot from you, even if you don’t show up. However, if you do not show up to your lesson at the specified time, you will not receive a refund, and you will not receive a “makeup lesson.” An email consultation can be arranged in place of a missed lesson. Overall, it’s best to think of monthly lessons as a subscription, in that you are charged the same per month regardless of how many lessons you actually attend.

  • Monthly prices are based on a schedule of 48 lessons per year (an average of 4 per month). I will take a teaching break 4 weeks per year (whether for vacation or because I am sick). The exact date of these are at my discretion, but the monthly price will never change. So, expect to pay the same every month, even in months where you receive 5 lessons or months where you receive 3 lessons.

  • If your very first lesson lands in the middle of a month, your tuition for the remainder of that month will be reduced/prorated, depending on how many lesson days are left in that month. You can calculate this prorated amount by dividing the regular monthly tuition by 4 then multiplying this amount by the number of lesson weeks remaining in that month (or I can do this for you).

  • If you go on vacation for 2-5 weeks in a row (yielding 2-5 consecutive missed lessons), but want to keep your timeslot reserved, I offer a discounted rate per missed lesson. To calculate this rate, take your monthly tuition and divide it by 4. Then, for each lesson you will miss due to vacation, reduce your regular monthly amount by that half of that number (or I can do this for you).

  • I currently accept cash, check (written to Erik Williams), Zelle, and Popmoney.
